An Environmental Awareness Campaign Initiative

Posted by: J Pick on Thu, Apr 5, 2007

Dear Parents:

Calvary by the Sea Montessori School has some great news!  We've just joined the Cartridge World Recycling Program!  This program provides a convenient location for collecting inkjet and laser cartridges while raising funds for our school.

The Cartridge World School Recycling Program is intended not only for school use, but also for use by the local community and businesses.  Our school will receive money for the cartridges we collect from parents, community members, and businesses.

Here's how the program will work:  teachers, students, parents, friends, business leaders and community members drop off their empty inkjet and laser cartridges at the school.  Periodically, a Cartridge World representative will pick up the collection.  Those cartridges are counted and their value is determined.  Cartridge World will then deliver a check to our school.

A Cartridge Collection Bin, clearly marked and accessible during normal school hours (7:30am - 5:30pm) will be placed in the School office.

This is an easy way to raise school funds and teaches our children valuable lessons about the variety of materials that can be recycled - e.g. organic waste via vermicomposting, beverage containers, newspapers, plastic bags, etc.  We all know this life long pattern of recycling will prove invaluable to the future stewards of our earth, the children.

Typically, the popular laser and inkjet cartridges that provide us with the most value are HP, Canon, Sharp and Lexmark.

Start saving your cartridges today.  We look forward to your enthusiastic participation!
