Celebrating 100 Years of Montessori

Save the Children Fund "Caps to the Capital"

Dear parents, family members and friends,

As we embark on a year long centenary celebration of Montessori education, the staff and children at Calvary by the Sea School (CBTSS) would like to commemorate this occasion by introducing this community campaign:

Save the Children Fund "Caps to the Capital"

By participating in this project we hope to bring awareness to Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy and to our school.

Fundamental health care, medicines and a simple knitted BABY CAP can help save the life of a newborn.  CBTSS invites you to join our Knitting class.  We will teach the basics of knitting and crocheting to complete the Baby Cap.

Dates:  Thursdays beginning September 28th (on going)
Time:  1:00-2:30PM
Place:  Church Room (between Angel Network & Toddler class)
What to bring:  Knitting needles size 6 and 8, crochet hook size 5mm, baby yarn

Sign up sheets will be available in the classrooms.

To involve the children in this project, we propose having a bake sale to raise $$ and mail this contribution to the organization.  Time and place will be announced at a later date.

Deadline for mailing BABY CAPS is December 2nd.
