Greetings from Pastor Lin Qiu. 20 Aug 2007

Follow-up on the Bethel Classes I Taught in March.

I returned from China on July 31 after a one-month trip, which involved a lot of traveling.  I found it exhausting, but very exciting and greatly encouraging.

My main aim was to follow up on the Bethel Series I had taught, and the pastoral training clinics I had led.

My main aim was to follow up on the Bethel Series I had taught, and the pastoral training clinics I had led.

A local brother in the Lord took me all over this central Chinese Province in his car about 1,700 Km from North to South and from East to West.  We visited almost all our churches there.

I had many talks with pastors and church members about their impressions of these first Bethel classes held in China.

I heard many touching testimonies on how they had benefitted from these.  They were very grateful for having such a good Bible class in Chinese.  Many brothers and sisters, including pastors, said the Bethel Series was the best material they have ever had for leading people to learn God's will. They all told me how these had changed their ministries and their lives.

I found their enthusiasm about this ministry very heartening.  I saw many churches had been revitalized by learning from these classes.

I sought to encourage the pastors and to motivate the lay leaders.

I was treated like a hero, although I told them repeatedly this was all done by God.

New Activities Simulated by the Bethel Series.

Three churches and two family gatherings have started their own Bethel Series classes.

Five more churches there are now selecting students for Bethel classes, to be starting fall or winter.

Visits to Many Cities in Three Other Provinces.

After this, I traveled to two major cities and two other provinces in inland China.  In one province. I visited churches in seven cities, two Christian training centers and one seminary.

The goal of this trip was to initiate personal friendships with church leaders in these places.

I was able to establish good productive relationships with local Christian pastors, lay leaders and government officials.

These relationships will be key for successful development of future ministries in China.

Regarding needs, policy, geographical situations, and local willingness, I will target two cities in one Province to become the next ones to establish Bethel training bases. I will follow up with pastors there to finalize this.

God willing, I will teach the Old Testament portion of the Bethel Series in another province in October.

Please pray for me and for this exciting ministry.

Please tell all our brothers and sisters that all these exciting ministries could not happen without their prayerful support.
