Plan, Care, Celebrate Life & Death Friday-Saturday Sept 8th -9th

Free Introduction Friday Sept 8th 7-9pm and workshop Saturday Sept 9th 9:30am-5pm.  Focusing on preparing for death, caring for the dying, and building a supportive community.

Dying is not just a medical and psychological event and so much more... How can we best show up as a caregiver? Examine tools and skills for the spiritual, social, physical, and emotional care for the dying.

What can we do to prepare for our own death? Let's clarify what’s most important. (Why bother?? It’s such a downer…)

What are the laws, rights and choices in Hawai'i? What are the environmental and financial costs?

Examples of paperwork for planning will be available.

Who should attend?   People wanting to educate themselves about, and prepare for their own approaching death and the death of their loved ones, as well as people who work in these fields: counselors, caregivers, social workers, hospice workers, chaplins, body workers, Reiki practitioners, palliative care doctors and nurses, parents and children.

Facilitated by Reverend Bodhi Be:  Reverend Bodhi Be is the Executive Director of Doorway Into Light, a 501c3 educational and charitable organization in Hawaii providing conscious and compassionate responses to dying and death since 2006. Doorway Into Light operates Hawaii’s only nonprofit funeral home and only certified green funeral home, as well as The Death Store, an educational resource center and store. Bodhi is an ordained interfaith minister, funeral director, end-of-life and bereavement counselor, hospice volunteer, workshop leader, ceremonial guide and bedside notary.  Bodhi facilitates a monthly support group, Being With Dying, now in it’s tenth year, and hosts a weekly radio show, Death Tracks, on Maui.
