Introduce members by: Sherri Clark:
Billie Pring, Pulelehoa Quirk, Ted Hsia, Pastor Tim ex officio.
1) The Missions Team has proposed formal adoption by CBTS of 2 missionaries supported by ELCA:
Pastor Dave Person from Tokyo, a close friend of Pastor Tim’s, is heavily involved in International youth-work.
Dr. Holly Nelson, pediatrician, is a medical missionary in Cameroon with her surgeon husband, Tim.
The Missions Team has suggested that CBTS donate $4,000 annually for each missionary.
Each missionary should benefit from our prayer and financial support, will keep us up-dated about their activities, and will hopefully visit us when they return for furlough.
2) Pastor Edison Munthe from Indonesia preached at our Services on 30 Oct 2005.
At short notice, the Missions Team arranged a special luncheon to give church members an opportunity to meet him and hear about his work, especially with families devastated by the Tsunami. Those who came seemed to have enjoyed the fellowship, and to have been very impressed with Pastor Munthe and his work. Data about him are on our web site, Pastor Tim is preparing a report about him for Calvary Calls.
3) The Missions Team hopes for CBTS to learn about and to become actively involved in supporting overseas missions. Anyone who is interested or concerned, please join our committee.
4) We hope opportunities will arise to send congregation members to conferences, and even to visit mission fields
