And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. “O Little Town of Bethlehem” (Announcement of Jesus’ Birth) Luke 1:26- Narrator: In the 6th month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee named Nazareth. He had a message for a young woman promised in marriage to a man named Joseph, who was a descendant of King David. Her name was Mary. The angel came to her and said, Angel: “Peace be with you! The Lord is with you and has greatly blessed you!” Narrator: Mary was deeply troubled by the angel’s message, and she wondered what his words meant. Angel; “Don’t be afraid, Mary, God has been gracious to you. You will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be called the Son of the Most High God.” Mary: “How shall this be, since I have no husband?” “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” “O Holy Night” (Penny’s group) Angel: “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and God’s power will rest upon you. The child will be called the Son of God. For with God nothing is impossible!” Mary: “I am the Lord’s servant. May it happen to me as you have said.” “O Come, All Ye Faithful” (The Birth of Jesus) Luke 2:1- Narrator: Emperor Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Roman Empire. Joseph went from Nazareth to Bethlehem in Judea, the birthplace of King David. Joseph went there because he was a descendant of David. While they were in Bethlehem, the time came for Mary to have her baby. “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” (The Shepherds and the Angels) Luke 2:8- Narrator: Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Angel: “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which shall be for all people; For to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Narrator: And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying. Angel: “And the angels sang, ‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill to all.’” “Angels We Have Heard on High” Shepherd: “Let’s go to Bethlehem to see Jesus.” Narrator: “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and saw the baby lying in the manger.” “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear” Narrator: “When the shepherds saw him, they told them what the angel had said about the child. Mary remembered all these things and thought deeply about them.” (The visit of the Wise Ones) Matthew 2:10- “We Three Kings of Orient Are” Pg. 15 Narrator: When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Then, departed for their own country another way.
